The rift passage in Kat Knot Cave | ||
Bill Lakin high up in the entrance rift passage of Kat Knot Cave, North Yorkshire. |

This shot was as difficult to get as it looks. Bill climbed up into the rift carrying a Vivitar 283 flashgun set to automatic exposure. I then had to climb up into the rift further back and try to find a good stance across the rift to shoot from. Once we had both struggled into a decent position we had to turn our cap lamps off, The camera's shutter was then opened on a time exposure whilst Bill set the flashgun off pointing forwards. I took three shots to be certain of the exposure, it wasn't a place I was keen to come back to. |
